America's Got Talent Night 1 Results Show Recap

Host Terry Crews opened the show with a recap of Tuesday night’s performances. And then he called the 10 acts to the stage who are awaiting their fate via America’s votes. Only three will go through.

But first Hakuna Matata came out and thanked Sofia for choosing them, “This is a very beautiful thing. When we get back here, it’s going to be crazy.”

Called up first to learn their fate were Arshiya and Ashes & Arrows. The first act still in the competition – meaning they made the Top 5 -- is Ashes & Arrows.

Terry next called up Attraction Juniors and Flewnt & Inkabee to see who made the cut. The honors went to Attraction Juniors.

They were followed by Roni Sagi & Rhythm, Howie Mandel’s favorite dog act, and Phillip Lewis. The votes went to Roni & Rhythm.

The countdown continued with Hyper Kids Africa vs Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer Liv Warfield, who got the bad news she was leaving the competition.

Even so, she got encouraging words from Simon, who said, “I think we’ll be seeing each other again.”

The last pairing was Los Osos High School and Richard Goodall. The fifth act staying in the competition was Heidi Klum’s Golden Buzzer Richard Goodall.

Next was a performance by last season’s winner Adrian Stoica & Hurricane. After their performance, we met Hurricane’s new sister Viva.

Then the tension mounted as the Top 5 took the stage: Attraction Juniors, Ashes & Arrows, Roni Sagi & Rhythm, Hyper Kids Africa and Richard Goodall.

The first act Terry announced moving on to the semifinals was Richard Goodall. Second was Ashes & Arrows.

Then, Terry threw a wrench in the announcements. Instead of revealing the final act, he built the suspense by announcing the act leaving: Attraction Juniors.

That left Roni Sagi & Rhythm and Hyper Kids Africa vying for the final spot. It was Roni Sagi & Rhythm who snagged it.

America's Got Talent returns next Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC with 11 more acts hoping to make the semifinals.
