Who Went Home in a Battle Royale Over 1:1 Time With Jenn on ‘Bachelorette’ Episode 2?
Jenn Tran’s season took a spicy turn tonight as two suitors vied for coveted one-on-one time with the first Asian American Bachelorette.
We're just in week 2 of The Bachelorette Season 21 and in another first for the franchise, the cast hit the road for a travel episode. Jenn and all 18 remaining men headed to beautiful Melbourne, Australia (which we've likely all been pronouncing wrong).
Tempers flared on the first group date after Devin, the freight operator from Houston, stole Jenn away for a private ice cream treat. The bold move rubbed several of the guys the wrong way but Aaron, the aerospace engineer from Oklahoma, took Devin's move personally—eventually confronting Devin and accusing him of "childish behavior."
"She doesn't want to be with a boy," Aaron told Devin in a heated moment.
Only time will tell whether Devin, a rumored frontrunner for the final rose, is "wasting Jenn's time" (more of Aaron's words) or just what the physician assistant ordered.
Read on to find out more about who went home tonight on The Bachelorette, who got coveted 1:1 dates and those group date roses.
Who got Jenn's first group date rose tonight?
Sam N., Marvin, Brian, Jonathon, Aaron, Jeremy, Devin and Grant were chosen for the first group date with Jenn tonight.
The contestants joined her on a market tour in Melbourne, tasting Australian favorite Vegemite (the group decided it tastes like peanut butter with soy sauce in it!) and downing whiskey shots with a surprise ingredient. After they had all been consumed, the bartender told them they had just eaten kangaroo testicles!
Next, they wandered into a shop where Devin boldly pulled Jenn away from the others and treated her to gelato. Angry rival suitors soon followed.
Aaron fumed to the cameras, “Devin’s making an ass of himself.”
When the group arrived at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, the joke was on the suitors who were given 10 minutes to come up with jokes they each would perform for Jenn and the comedy club's audience.
After Devin's stunt pulling Jenn away from the group date, he had bit of target on his back. The set could have been called "The Roast of Devin."
“You look like the budget Pete Davidson, which means you look like him without the [expletive] sense of humor,” Aaron said, comparing Devin to the Saturday Night Live star.
Later, the afterparty turned into a match of tug of war Jenn as Aaron and Devin alternately stole Jenn from one another.
First, while Aaron shared private time with Jenn, Devin interrupted, stealing her with a cart of ice cream.
Jeremy advised frustrated Aaron to go in and steal Jenn back, which he did.
But Devin soon came back and stole Jenn again from Aaron!
They wound up kissing, and Devin told cameras he was “giddy,” while Aaron was “pissed.”
While Aaron and Devin were battling each other for attention, Grant and Jenn enjoyed revealing and bonding one-on-one time.
Grant told her he was ready to settle down and wanted to be a dad that kids ran to when he came home from work.
"Kissing Jenn feels like kissing the woman I'm going to marry," he told cameras after he kissed Jenn.
At the end of the date, neither Aaron not Devin got the date rose! Handsome day trader Grant got the first group date rose of the night.
Who got Jenn’s first one-on-one date?
Army ranger veteran Marcus was The Bachelorette’s pick for the first one-on-one date. Their skydiving date took Jenn miles up and out of her comfort zone.
She was terrified to be jumping out of a plane at 15,000 feet, but Marcus, an experienced jumper, made her feel comfortable, and they both completed the tandem jumps with instructors.
Jenn was thrilled. She hugged and kissed Marcus and said she loved his “calm energy.”
At their dinner, Marcus confided that he wasn’t always so confident.
He explained that he was seriously injured in a firefight during a deployment to Afghanistan, “A grenade was tossed in a room…it changed my life.”
Marcus told Jenn he had spent a couple months in a U.S. hospital “breathing through a tube, hooked up to machines” and having to learn “to walk again.”
He played the emotion card and turned on the waterworks. Jenn told him it was OK to cry.
She gave him her one-on-one date rose and they kissed.
“I could see a future with Marcus,” Jenn said in confessional.
How did Jenn’s second group date go?
The rest of the men and the beauty headed to the outback for a photo shoot with Australian animals.
But only one guy would get a one-on-one dinner later.
After Jenn was photographed with a koala, Sam M. posed with a monitor lizard and Spencer with an owl.
Hakeem was scared when a giant yellow spider crawled all over him
When Jenn didn’t want to handle a snake, Dylan helped her out, and she chose him for the private time.
Over dinner, Dylan noted her “calming energy.” Jenn told him she’d never had a partner who stood up for her. Dylan talked about how his parents had married after knowing each other only six months.
The hunk who wants to be a doctor expressed that he didn’t fit in, and she commented, “I see a lot of myself in Dylan.”
She gave him the date rose and they shared a makeout session.
What else happened in the battle between Aaron and Devin?
Back at the hotel, Aaron took Devin aside to tell him he had been arrogant earlier and “it affects other guys in the house.”
Devin slammed Aaron for calling him by the wrong name earlier. (He had called him Dylan earlier, seemingly to slyly irritate Devin.)

“I see you as a bully,” Aaron told his rival.
Further, he gave Devin a psychology book to read—called Principles for Self-Growth.
Devin raged to the cameras, “I’m here for Jenn! Stupid ass book!”
What happened at the cocktail party?
When Jenn arrived, Devin stole her away immediately, making Thomas N. go ballistic. Grant noted, “Devin’s got some balls.”
Devin warned Jenn chaos might ensue, but told her he was tired of hiding who he was to make other people happy.
Jenn thought it was “refreshing” that Devin could be himself.
Thomas N. decided to interrupt them. He pulled Devin aside and lambasted him for promising to give him and the others time with Jenn, then monopolizing her.
Thomas N. explained to Jenn that Devin had broken his agreement, but she sighed, “You’re making decisions for me,” and pointed out she’d been sitting alone for 10 minutes as they’d argued.
Thomas N. admitted to cameras, “I messed up.”
Devin told Thomas N. he’d made a fool of himself, and his rival replied, “F--k off!”
As both got heated, host Jesse Palmer appeared to end the cocktail party.
Who got roses tonight at the rose ceremony?
With Grant, Marcus, and Dylan already holding date roses, Jenn then chose her remaining guys to stay: Austin, Hakeem, Spencer, Jeremy, Jonathon, John, Tomas A., Sam M., Devin, Sam N., Aaron and Thomas N.
