Who Went Home and Who Made It Through Night 1 on 'The Voice' Season 26 Battles
The Battles began for Season 26 of The Voice on Monday night with coaches Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé matching up their teams for sing-offs which determined which artist went through to the Knockouts and which one went home.
And then, of course, each coach gets two Steals to take an artist from another team to join theirs. On night one, both Michael and Gwen used one of their Steals. Michael to take Sloane Simon from Team Gwen, and Gwen to rescue Mori Ilderton from Team Michael.

Battle Round 1: Christina Eagles vs Gail Bliss from Team Snoop
Song: “Redneck Woman” by Gretchen Wilson

Snoop said: “What I love about Christina’s voice is it is strong, and she can control it. She makes the right decisions. She’s amazing. She was moving, dancing, looking in the eyes of the crowd. I just felt she was a star.”

Battle Round 2: Sydney Sterlace vs Sloane Simon from Team Gwen
Song: “Birth of a Feather” by Billie Eilish
Winner: Sydney Sterlace
Gwen said: “Sydney and Sloan’s performance was amazing, but I had to go with Sydney. The fact that she’s 15 years old and she can take such care of the lyrics and she’s so dynamic, all the things. When she’s on, it’s amazing and she really did grow from rehearsal. She listened to me.”
Steal: Sloane Simon: Michael, Snoop and Reba all turned to Steal Sloane. Sloane chose Michael.
Michael said: “Sloan has a great voice, angelic, sweet tone, great pitch, great control. People are going to really love her. She’s a pop star in the making.”

Battle Round 3: Kendall Eugene vs Alison Elena from Team Reba
Song: “Bring on the Rain” by Jo Dee Messina & Tim McGraw
Winner: Kendall Eugene
Reba said: “Oh, it was hard. I didn’t know which one I was going to pick until I said, ‘The winner of this Battle goes to…’ and I looked up and it was Kendall. He had a lot to prove. I used my coach’s Replay button for him, and he stepped up to the plate.”
Battle Round 4: Eliza Pryor vs Mikaela Ayira from Team Snoop
Song: “A Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton
Winner: Mikaela Ayira
Snoop said: “It was heartbreaking to let one of them go, but I just felt that Mikaela had a little bit more room to grow. What I love about Mikaela’s voice is it’s big. She has control but she doesn’t fully have control. I think the advice I can give her is how to become a real big vocalist in the music industry.”
Battle Round 5: Jan Dan vs Jaylen Dunham from Team Gwen
Song: “For Once in My Life” by Stevie Wonder
Winner: Jan Dan
Gwen said: “I just had to go with Jan Dan because he’s ready. I am excited to get deeper into his confidence and getting him a little more stage presence. I don’t think he needs much help with singing. He’s a really good singer.”
Battle Round 6: Mori Ilderton vs Kiara Vega from Team Bublé
Song: “Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls
Winner: Kiara Vega
Michael said: “The decisions are impossible. It’s not a joke. I honestly picked Kiara because of her potential. She’s got a great voice. She doesn’t sound like any other girl. I think the music industry might not know that they’re missing a piece of the puzzle and that she’s it.”
Steal: Mori Ilderton by Gwen
Gwen said: “I just had to Steal Mori. I just got this feeling, ‘I know what to do with that guy.’ My favorite thing about Mori’s voice is it has a unique raspy tone. When you hear music out there, his voice feels like what’s happening right now in the world.”
The Voice airs Monday night at 8 p.m. ET/PT and Tuesday night at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Streaming next day on Peacock.
