What to Stream: 3 Movies With a Surprise Ending After This Wild Election
Were the results of the 2016 Election not quite what you expected? Or, maybe you saw it coming? Or perhaps you’re still waiting for one final surprise. Either way, if you’d like to take your mind off politics for awhile, then here are three movies – with a twist ending – that you can stream right now.
In 1960, the same year JFK narrowly defeated Richard Nixon to become the 35th President of the United States, Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho hit theaters. When one woman on the lam finds herself at a secluded motel, she encounters the crazed motel manager, Norman Bates. And, in addition to thinking twice about taking a shower, moviegoers also can’t stop talking about the film’s twist. Psycho is available to rent on Amazon.
Thirty-five years later in 1995, Bill Clinton was still in his first term as the 42nd President of the United States, and The Usual Suspects was in theaters. The film features a bloody gun battle on a boat, a not so random group of criminals, and a character who says “the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist.” If we told you anything else we might give away one of the greatest twists in movie history. The Usual Suspects is available to stream on Netflix.
And, finally, this suspenseful thriller left moviegoers baffled with a twist involving a psychologist, played by Bruce Willis, and a child who sees dead people. The film could prove to be M. Night Shyamalan’s masterpiece, because well, you know, his other movies, meh. The Sixth Sense is available to rent on iTunes.
