Whoopi Goldberg offers Hillary Clinton a job on “The View”: 'You sure you don’t want a gig?'
Goldberg offered Clinton the job after the former Secretary of State gave a speech about why she believes Kamala Harris is "the right person for our country."
Hillary Clinton may have recently embarked upon a book tour across the United States, but Whoopi Goldberg is already lining up another career opportunity for her.
The View moderator offered Clinton — who recently released her latest memoir, Something Lost, Something Gained: Reflections on Life, Love, and Liberty — a seat at The View’s table at the end of their roundtable discussion on Thursday’s episode.
“You sure you don’t want a gig? Like a part-time gig, because,” Goldberg began, trailing off as Clinton began to laugh. “Listen, we thank you for always coming to the table. It’s always a pleasure and an honor and we didn’t even talk about your husband.”
Clinton added, “But I do! I talk about him in the book.” To which Goldberg replied, “Well yes, but in order to know that, you have to get the book.”

Goldberg’s surprise job offer came after the former Secretary of State gave an empowered speech about why she considers Vice President Kamala Harris to be “the right person for our country” ahead of the upcoming presidential election.
“Remember, this election, it’s not just between two people," Clinton said. "It’s between two very different ideas about what our country should be. It’s between democracy and autocracy, it’s between freedom and oppression, it’s between someone who wants to bring us together — Kamala Harris wants to be the president for everybody."

That includes, Clinton said, even people who don’t vote for Harris. “She knows that if we don’t start bringing our country together we are vulnerable not only internally to division, but externally to bad actors in Russia, in Iran, in China, and elsewhere who want to keep dividing us and bring us down,” she said. “So this is an election that is going to determine the future of America.”
Patting her collar, she added, “I wear this necklace with my grandchildren’s name on it everyday because that’s what I’m fighting for. I’m fighting that they have the kind of country and world that they deserve to have and I dedicate this book to them.”
