Why A 21-Year-Old Says There Are Times She Just Wants To Die
“I hate everybody. I hate myself. There are times when I just want to die,” says Danielle. “There are times when I just want to stop breathing, times where I just want to kill myself.”

The 21-year-old admits she self-medicates, drives while intoxicated, self-harms and has violent rages in which she sometimes hurts others.
Danielle’s parents, David and Lora, claim her emotional difficulties and anger issues began when she was 7, but escalated two years ago after she alleged she was raped by two men. Danielle says she reported the incident but claims she was turned away by police.
Danielle says she sometimes wonders if she’s to blame for the assault. “Is it my fault because I drank? Is it my fault because I trusted somebody?”
She says she doesn’t trust anyone anymore. “And it sucks because I want to. I want to so bad, but at the same time, I don’t.”
