Sarah Jessica Parker asks fans for Carrie's 'best boyfriend' in new 'And Just Like That...' set pics

Filming for Season 3 of “And Just Like That...” is well underway.

Sarah Jessica Parker shared a new photo Friday from the set of the production, which started filming in May. In the photos, Parker teased the re-appearance of a certain fan favorite character in the upcoming third season.

John Corbett, who has played Aidan Shaw since 2000, stood by a door in the photos, writing over a white sheet with his character's name under the heading, "And Just Like That Season 3."

Under the name "Aidan," Corbett added, "is the best boyfriend," accompanied by doodles of a crown and star.

In the caption, Parker asked her followers whether or not they agree.

"So says he. So says many. What say you?" she wrote.

The “Sex and the City” follow-up was renewed for a third season in August 2023. The official social media accounts for Max posted a photo of Parker on the streets of New York on May 10, captioning it, “Stepping into a new season… #AndJustLikeThat Season 3 is now in production.”

Since then, the show has made a few announcements.

Here's where the Season 2 finale left the rest of the characters, and what we know about Season 3.

How did Season 2 of 'And Just Like That...' end?

Following the Aug. 17 episode, titled “The Last Supper Part One: Appetizer,” some on social media were worried that milestone events on the show may signal the end for Max's "Sex and the City" reboot.

The first part of the two-part Season 2 finale was jam-packed with storylines that viewers felt as though they were completing their arcs.

Some "AJLT" fans were worried the series may end after Season Two.

"This feels like the show is winding down to the end," one concerned fan wrote in a comment on the official "And Just Like That..." Instagram page.

"It feels very final. I know it said season finale but it feels like series finale," another fan wrote on Reddit.

But just before the second part of the Season Two finale dropped Aug. 24, "And Just Like That..." executive producer Michael Patrick King announced that the show will continue for another season.

“We are thrilled to spend more time in the ‘Sex And The City’ universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors,” King said.

Nevertheless, let's examine some plot points that have had fans talking.

Will Carrie leave Manhattan to live with Aidan on his farm?

Carrie sold her old apartment

This past season, Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) sold her longtime Manhattan apartment, the pad she lived in as a single woman throughout the "Sex and the City" and "And Just Like That..." series. Viewers saw Carrie and Aidan get back together this past season, and Carrie bought a new apartment for the two of them.

But after Aidan's youngest son Wyatt's car accident in Virginia, he regretted not being more available for his children, leaving Carrie's future up in the air.

Parker's Instagram post Sept. 6 suggests Aidan will be back in the picture for Season 3.

Charlotte got her groove back as a working mom

Charlotte (Kristin Davis) always longed to be a wife and mother so it's ironic that, after achieving that, she's realized how much she misses having a life of her own. The last few episodes of Season 2 showed Charlotte thriving while working at an art gallery again — and also getting annoyed by her kids when they pester her at work.

After she sells an expensive painting to pop star Sam Smith, Charlotte celebrates with her colleagues over drinks. In the subsequent hilarious but moving scene, Charlotte arrives home, tipsy, and defiantly tells hubby Harry (Evan Handler) and their kids, "I was a person before you. I was a person before all of you!"

In other words, are viewers seeing Charlotte's storyline reaching its conclusion? Despite herself, traditional Charlotte had realized she's a thoroughly modern woman, juggling work and family, sloppily and happily.

"I’m loving how Charlotte is finally asserting herself and setting boundaries with those bratty kids," raved one Instagram user.

Miranda got her personality back

After spending what some viewers deemed as far too long chasing after Che (Sara Ramirez), the newly single Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) has finally remembered she's a confident, independent, no-nonsense woman who doesn't take any guff.

Miranda has found herself again.

Miranda is killing it as an intern for Human Rights Watch, and she's standing up for herself again personally. After hearing Che make jokes about their previous sex life in their new stand-up comedy routine, Miranda confronts Che outside the club and lets them have it.

As one fan noted on Instagram, "This is the Miranda we know and love. Welcome back."

Stanford's spiritual send-off

Stanford's storyline also wrapped up. Part 1 of the season finale included a tender scene where Carrie reveals to Anthony (Mario Cantone) that Stanford, who was played by the late Willie Garson, has begun a new life as a Shinto monk in Japan.

The scene toasting the character was particularly moving as Garson passed away in 2021 at age 57. The toast to "Stanny" was a posthumous farewell to the beloved character.

The return of Samantha

"AJLT" fans had been clamoring for Kim Cattrall's return as Samantha ever since it was announced. Absent since the revival debuted, Cattrall was convinced by the CEO of HBO to return for a brief cameo in Season 2's final episode.

Seema has fallen in love

Powerhouse real estate agent Seema (Sarita Choudhury) has long been single and independent, but she's also been candid about wanting to find true love. Still, Seema surprised even herself when she blurted out "I love you" to her Marvel movie director suitor Ravi (Armin Amiri) in bed. Then, Ravi said it back. Could Seema have found her own happy ending?

Karen Pittman leaves ‘And Just Like That...’ ahead of Season 3

Karen Pittman, who starred in the show as Professor Nya Wallace, will not return for Season 3 due to scheduling conflicts with “two other streamer series,” a spokesperson for Max confirmed to TODAY.com on March 24.

Pittman had starred in Apple TV+’s “The Morning Show” since 2019, and Netflix announced that Pittman was cast in an upcoming adaptation of Judy Blume’s “Forever.”

“It has become apparent that filming three shows at once isn’t possible. Due to the production realities, we are disappointed to announce that scheduling conflicts will not allow us to continue with this character as part of Season Three of ‘And Just Like That...,’” the statement read.

“Karen and Nya will be missed, and her Max family and fans will all be cheering her on in her other endeavors,” it concluded.

Pittman’s character Nya was first introduced to viewers as Miranda’s law professor at Columbia.

After a rocky start, Miranda and Nya became friends, and the show explored Nya’s relationship with her husband and her feelings towards motherhood. The character appeared less in Season 2, and she was primarily shown trying to move on after her breakup and find love again.

Rosie O'Donnell joins Season 3

The comedian, as well as Max, confirmed that she officially joined the third season of the “Sex and the City” spinoff.

In a May 1 Instagram, O’Donnell revealed that she is portraying Mary in the first episode titled “Outlook Good.”

“Here comes mary,” O’Donnell captioned a photo of the first episode of “And Just Like That...” Season 3, revealing her character’s name. She also included a selfie of herself with a gray bob.

Max did not share any additional information about O'Donnell's casting, role or when fans can expect Season 3 to drop.
