Why Jon Stewart Will Be M.I.A. From The Daily Show Monday — Who’s Filling In?
Host Jon Stewart is taking a week off from The Daily Show desk due to a recent COVID-19 diagnosis, Comedy Central revealed Monday.
Michael Kosta will sit at the desk for Monday’s installment, which begins on the cabler at 11/10c. Stewart is currently set to return next week, Monday, Aug. 12.

Comedy Central has also announced the guest line-up for the week ahead which includes:
Mon, Aug. 5 (tonight): Roxane Gay (author/publisher/professor — promoting her ebook/audiobook “Stand Your Ground”)
Tues, Aug. 6: Ed Helms (actor/writer/producer – promoting his podcast “SNAFU”)
Wed, Aug. 7: Guests to be annnounced.
Thurs, Aug. 8: Hannah Berner (comedian — promoting Netflix standup special We Ride at Dawn)
Who Should Host the Oscars Next Year?
Upon his return, Stewart will continue to host the late-night series once a week alongside The Daily Show’s News Team which is comprised of Ronny Chieng, Jordan Klepper, Michael Kosta and Desi Lydic with Dulcé Sloan, Lewis Black, Troy Iwata, Josh Johnson and Grace Kuhlenschmidt.
