Wind Dancer Films Developing Series About Secret Good Samaritan Giving Out Cash
This is timely — Wind Dancer, the company of Home Improvement co-creators Matt Williams and David McFadzean, has put in development a TV series, in which an anonymous Good Samaritan leaves cash for strangers throughout Los Angeles. The project is not inspired by the current Hidden Cash frenzy, in which an anonymous millionaire hides money-filled envelopes in LA, posting clues about their location on Twitter to amass 355,000 followers since launching the social experiment in San Francisco about a week ago. Instead, Wind Dancer is adapting Good Sam, the debut novel of the company’s president Dete Meserve, which is being published next Tuesday, June 3. In it, a female TV news reporter in Los Angeles is looking for the Good Samaritan (aka Good Sam) who is anonymously leaving $100,000 cash on strangers’ front porches throughout the city (trailer below). Williams and McFadzean executive produce with Meserve and Wind Dancer head of production Judd Payne. The company is producing FX’s comedy Saint George.
