Woman Who Claims Diddy Shot Her In The Face Celebrates His Arrest
Diddy’s arrest this week likely brought a lot of relief to his alleged victims, but some people are feeling a bit more triumphant. A woman who claims the 54-year-old artist shot her in the face during the infamous 1999 nightclub shooting involving Jennifer Lopez is celebrating the fact he was taken into custody.
Natania Reuben, the alleged shooting victim, told Daily Beast that she learned about the Bad Boy founder’s arrest from her daughter Nirvana. “She says, ‘Mommy, guess who’s in custody?'” she recalled. “I asked her if it was somebody locally in town that we know. And she’s like, ‘No, he’s bigger.'”
Reuben said that upon learning the former REVOLT chairman was arrested, she said she “screamed out to God, ‘Thank you, merciful father!'” This catharsis came from the traumatic experience she had in 1999. She was at the same party as Puff and J. Lo which ended in gunfire after the mogul got into an argument with a drug dealer. Reuben said that she saw the Bad Boy co-founder shoot her in the face.
“I watched him,” Natania Reuben told Daily Beast. “I saw him with my own eyes.” She was hit in the middle of her eyes with a 9mm bullet and felt like she got struck with “Paul Bunyan’s flaming-hot sledgehammer” when she got shot. “I called out to God and said, ‘Don’t take me. I’m not finished raising my kids, I have work to do,'” she said, referring to her two sons.
Reuben ended up testifying against Diddy in his trial, but the surgeons weren’t able to remove fragments from her face and provide ballistic evidence to support her testimony. Puff was acquitted and settled the civil lawsuit with Reuben, paying her $1.8 million. Shyne, his artist at the time, ended up being sentenced to 10 years in jail despite Reuben claiming that his label boss shot her.
She described seeing him getting arrested over 20 years later as “one of the best days ever,” but acknowledged that he may not have been able to harm so many more people if he was convicted in the 1999 shooting trial. Now, he is facing racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges on top of rape and sexual assault lawsuits that were filed over the last almost year.
Diddy and his legal team claim that he is innocent, despite the raids from March revealing he had over 1000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant, dedicated sex rooms loaded with sex toys and bondage gear, and hidden cameras for his “Freak Offs.”
