Worcester's Stephen Nedoroscik talks viral memes with Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon
Worcester native and Olympic medalist Stephen Nedoroscik made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday evening, where he discussed not only his medal-earning routine on the pommel horse but becoming a viral sensation across the internet.
Nedoroscik won two bronze medals for his routine on the pommel horse ? one as an individual and one as a member of the U.S. men's gymnastics team ? and has become one of the break-out stars of the Olympic games.
A pair of medals hanging from his neck, Nedoroscik explained what has become a viral meme depicting the athlete with his head tilted back and eyes closed.
"This one says, 'This Ken's job is horse,'" Fallon said before asking what exactly Nedoroscik was doing in the shot.
"We get there earlier, then warm up and then march out and compete. So it was like five hours or so," he said. "So finally, when it got to horse, I needed to calm down."
"So all I'm doing there is, I'm tilting my head back and doing my breathing exercises and visualizing a lot," he added, "like, 100 times."
That moment of calm has since been transformed into a plethora of memes including Clark Kent and Ken.
After discussing his athletic abilities showcased at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, Fallon asked Nedoroscik about his other talent: solving a Rubik's cube.
Fallon handed Nedoroscik a cube, and 15 seconds later he had solved the puzzle.
LMAO this came out so well ?? https://t.co/7vkl6nfnjg
