Zoe Saldana Wins Critics Choice Award in Satin Custom Red Dress and Platform Open-Toe Heels by Saint Laurent
Zoe Saldana is a winner! The performer picked up the award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in “Emilia Perez” at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards. That Netflix project has been at the center of controversy for the last few weeks. This award show cast its votes before the lionshare of the controversy.
Styled by Petra Flannery, Saldana wore a sleeveless red Saint Laurent dress. Designed by Anthony Vaccarello, the piece included a high front and exposed back. The top is draped while the reess of the design is a fit and flare silhouette.

For shoes, Saldana wore a pair of Saint Laurent La Scandale heels. The shoes are a sandal style. They include a thick snub nosed platform. The shoes also have a peep toe at the front. The thin stiletto heel is more than five inches with a platform of just under an inch.
The upper is made from viscose and silk. It also includes a leather sole. The insole of the shoe sports a Saint Laurent-engraved gold plaque.
The back half of the shoe is strappy with a slingback strap as well as an ankle strap. It also sports a gold buckle. Saint Laurent currently sells La Scandale in black and brown for $1,150.
Saldana posted photos of the shoe to Instagram Stories prior to the awards. She posted a series of images of getting ready for the big day. Included in them were the tall sandals.
The Critics Choice Awards are an annual event presented by the American-Canadian Critics Choice Association to honor the finest in cinematic achievement. The Critics Choice Awards celebrates projects across film and television, and this year projects like “Conclave,” “Wicked” and “Dune: Part Two” lead the film nominations while “Shogun” leads the television nominations. Presenters will include Aldis Hodge, Kate Hudson, Kathryn Hahn, Lupita Nyong’o and Sarah Michelle Gellar among others and this year’s attendees include Zoe Salda?a, Sarah Michelle Gellar and more.
The 30th annual Critics Choice Awards were originally scheduled to take place Jan. 12, but was postponed after the L.A. wildfires hit the towns of Pacific Palisades and Altadena. While E!‘s traditional red carpet pre-show was canceled, the stars still walked down the carpet in their best outfits and footwear. Chelsea Handler is hosting the ceremony, which is taking place on Feb. 7 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. The ceremony will be broadcast live on E! starting at 7 p.m. ET, and will be available to stream on Peacock on Saturday.
