Zooey Deschanel Wears Vintage Versace Boots for Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Oscars Party
Zooey Deschanel turned a chic all-black look with touches of gold at the annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars viewing party in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The actress wore a black patent leather top featuring a scoop neckline and cap sleeves tucked into a black velvet mini skirt that she cinched at the waist with a skinny black patent and gold Versace belt. She styled the monochromatic ensemble with sheer black stockings and coordinating thigh-high boots.

The “New Girl” alum reached for a pair of vintage Versace boots from late designer Gianni Versace’s fall 1994 collection. The black suede boots feature the brand’s signature Medusa head logo embroidered in shimmering gold just above the knee.
A unique design, the subtly slouched style also boasts gold metallic leather overlays that create the appearance of a T-strap pump adorned with a second Versace emblem in the center. Gold leather piping at the top and a 3-inch stiletto heel covered in the same lustrous material complete the eye-catching boots.
Deschanel kept her accessories to a minimum, sporting a gold chain-link bracelet and two rings. The “Elf” actress was joined by her husband, “Property Brothers” star Jonathan Scott. The Canadian HGTV star wore a black velvet suit with a crisp white button-down shirt and glossy black dress shoes for the event.
Since rising to fame after appearing in Cameron Crowe’s hit “Almost Famous” in 2000, Deschanel has become known for her style. Often incorporating vintage pieces, she’s been known to wear whimsical dresses, ballet flats and bow-embellished pumps. She’s also a fan of Mary Janes, from flat styles to platforms.
Deschanel works with Los Angeles-based stylist Ib Abdel Nasser, who has also worked with Tessa Thompson and Laura Harrier. Recently, she’s worn brands like Celine, Patou, Balenciaga, Iris van Herpen, Giorgio Armani Privé and vintage Dolce & Gabbana.
