A variety of New Year's Eve options available

Dec. 30—A variety of entertainment options are available for area residents seeking to usher in the New Year at a party or a concert.

The newly created Epic Live Sports and Entertainment Complex is hosting two events this weekend with Lynch Mob performing Saturday evening and Quiet Riot on Sunday evening.

Doors open at 8 p.m. both evenings, with $45 for a weekend pass and $30 each night, with $25 pre-sale, said John Miller, who owns Epic Live.

Lynch Mob features George Lynch who was the vocalist for the band Dokken in the 1980s and has played in a variety major acts over the years, Miller said. "They [Lynch Mob] are doing their final tour," he said.

Quiet Riot is also a 1980s band that had a variety of hits, including "Metal Health," Miller said. He said several of the original members are part of the tour, and several have died.

Rudy Sarzo, an original member, has returned to the band and will be performing on Sunday, Miller said. "Rudy has been with some big, big bands," he said

The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake is planning two options for New Year's Eve revelers, according to the lodge's website.

Overnight packages are being offered at the Horizon's Restaurant or in the ballroom for a larger party atmosphere.

"Come enjoy a full buffet, open bar, and live music from the band Good Question. The band and their old-time Geneva-on-the-Lake theme will take you back to the hay day of the GOTL strip," the website states.

Many local restaurants and caterers will be providing area residents with a variety of culinary options to celebrate New Year's Eve at home.

The Ashtabula Veterans of Foreign Wars is also sponsoring a party at the Post on Main Avenue from 8:30 p.m. on Sunday to 12:30 a.m. Monday with the band Burnt Valves providing music for the evening.

Our Lady of Peace Parish is also planning a dinner and dance at the Mount Carmel Event Center in Ashtabula from Sunday at 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Monday.
