The #1 Movie on Netflix Puts a Fun New Spin on Hidden Camera Pranks
Step aside, Savages, because Netflix just crowned an all-new top-rated movie. (And it looks like a total must-watch.)
Bad Trip just claimed a spot on the streaming service’s list of most popular films. Although it was supposed to hit theaters in 2020, it was postponed due to the coronavirus. Now that it’s on Netflix, it’s ranked among the likes of Seaspiracy, A Week Away, Yes Day and Deadly Illusions.
So, what’s it about? Bad Trip is pretty much a cross between a scripted road trip movie and a hidden camera prank flick. The storyline follows Chris Carey (Eric Andre) and Bud Malone (Lil Rel Howery), two lifelong best friends who are stuck in a rut.
So, they embark on a cross-country road trip to NYC. Along the way, they pull inventive pranks on a slew of unsuspecting bystanders, so be on the lookout.
In addition to Andre and Howery, the movie also stars Tiffany Haddish as Trina Malone and Michaela Conlin as Maria Li.
Bad Trip was directed by Kitao Sakurai (The Passage), who also wrote the screenplay alongside Andre (The Eric Andre Show), Andrew Barchilon (The Adventures of Whit), Dan Curry (Hot Package), Jenna Park (Banged) and Kathryn Borel (Anne with an E). Andre, Jeff Tremaine (Bad Grandpa), Ruben Fleischer (Jekyll) and David Bernad (The Mule) served as executive producers.
Finally an excuse to revisit our inner prankster.
