13 Healthy Smoothies We Can't Stop Sipping
We're in the midst of a heat wave, and there's no better way to cool down than with a tasty, ice-cold, tasty and—yes! — good-for-you beverage. Bottoms up!
Blueberry Dazzler Smoothie
Ingredients:
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 tbsp almond butter
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 scoop vanilla plant-based protein powder
Blend adding water as necessary.

Lemon Kale Protein Detox Smoothie
Ingredients:
1/2 lemon, peeled and seeded
1/2 frozen banana
1 cup kale
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 scoop plain plant-based protein powder
3 ice cubes
Blend, using water if needed.

Raspberry Chocolate
Ingredients:
1/2 banana
1 handful spinach
1/2 cup raspberries
1 tbsp almond or cashew nut butter
2 tbsp raw cocoa powder
10 ounces unsweetened almond, hemp, or coconut milk
1 scoop or serving plant-based protein powder (optional)
Directions:
Blend ingredients together.

Mint Chip
Ingredients:
2 cups frozen spinach
2 cups frozen bananas
1/4 cup raw cashews
3 tbsp cacao nibs
2 tbsp (packed) fresh mint leaves, minced
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups rice milk (original variety)
1/2 cup coconut water
1/4 tsp chlorella
Sweetener, to taste (optional)
Directions:
Blend all the ingredients together until smooth. Taste, and sweeten as desired. Makes two 18-ounce servings.

Pistachio Cherry Smoothie
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups frozen cherries, pitted
1/4 cup unsalted pistachios, shelled
1/4 cup dried goji berries
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup water
1 tbsp cacoa powder
1 1/2 cups ice sweetener, to taste (optional)
Directions:
Blend together all the ingredients, except the ice, until creamy and smooth. Add the ice and blend until frosty. Taste, and sweeten as desired. Makes two 16-ounce servings.

Red Smoothie
Ingredients:
1 large spoonful goji berries, soaked in water overnight and drained
1/4 cup fresh raspberries
3 large strawberries, stems discarded
1 tbsp manuka honey
3 tbsp goat's milk yogurt
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
Directions:
Blend everything together in a powerful blender until completely smooth and drink.

The Ultimate Morning Wake Up Smoothie
Ingredients:
1 head of bok choy, roughly chopped
1/2 papaya
1/2 mango
1/2 cup purified or filtered water
1 cup coconut water
1 tbsp ground raw flax seeds
1 tsp spirulina powder or any "supergreens" powder
2 probiotic capsules (pull the capsule apart and tip out the contents)
1 tbsp Udo's oil
Directions:
Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender until smooth. Serves 2.

1 1/2 cups fresh peaches, pitted and chopped
1 1/2 cups frozen raspberries
1/4 cup Medjool dates, pitted (about 3-4 large fruits)
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
2 tbsp chia seeds
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups ice
Sweetener, to taste
Directions:
Blend together all the ingredients, except the ice, until smooth. Add the ice and blend again until frosty. Taste, and sweeten as desired. Makes two 16-ounce servings.

Cookie Dough Smoothie
Ingredients:
1/4 cup raw pecans
1/4 cups Medjool dates, pitted (about 3-4 large fruits)
1 cup very ripe pear, chopped
2 tbsp lucuma powder
1 tsp maca powder
1 1/2 cups almond milk
2 tbsp cacao nibs
2 cups coconut ice (freeze pure coconut water in ice cube trays until solid.)
1 tbsp chia seeds
Sweetener, to taste (optional)
Directions:
Blend together all the ingredients except the cacao nibs and coconut ice until creamy and smooth. Add the nibs and ice and blend until frosty, leaving the nibs to serve as the "chocolate chips" and add a crunchy kick. Inherently dessert-like, it is unlikely you will need to boost the sweetness, but taste the smoothie and add if desired.
Makes two 14-ounce servings.

Creamy Avocado + Cacao Smoothie
Ingredients:
1 ripe avocado, peeled and pitted
1 cup fresh coconut water
1 cup cold unsweetened almond milk
1 tbsp raw cacao powder
1 heaping tbsp ground hempseeds
1 tbsp raw honey
Directions:
Blend everything in a powerful blender until completely smooth and drink immediately. Serves 2.

1/4 cup raw cashews
3 cups baby spinach
2 tbsp mashed avocado
1 tsp orange zest
1 1/2 tsp minced fresh rosemary
1 1/2 cups orange juice
2 cups ice sweetener, to taste
1/2 tsp camu powder
Directions:
Blend together all the ingredients — except the ice — until smooth. Add the ice and blend once more until frosty. Taste, and sweeten as desired. Makes two 16-ounce servings.
