IGuessImAFlowerGirl, a 24-year-old woman, explained that her longtime friend is getting married soon. The two spoke over FaceTime about plans for the bachelorette party and other future plans.
IGuessImAFlowerGirl said she wasn't expecting to be a bridesmaid, but she was shocked when the bride asked her, instead, to be the flower girl in her wedding.

"I'm in shock," IGuessImAFlowerGirl wrote. "Basically she wants me to act like a bridesmaid, but not be one."
She said the bride sent her a white floral dress that looks like a child's and stands out from what the rest of the wedding party is wearing — and the bride wants to keep the whole thing a secret.
"I get it's her wedding day and she gets to have it however she wants," IGuessImAFlowerGirl wrote. "I don't want to be a flower girl at all, but I don't want to ruin her day."
The saga inspired heated conversations, both in the forum and in response to a tweet containing a screenshot of the post.
Most commenters told her to speak up about the unusual request.
"This is weird AF. I don't think a real friend would want to make another friend feel so uncomfortable," one Twitter user wrote. "I say tell her you're uncomfortable with the role but still support her in planning the wedding if you're so inclined."
Some were serious enough to say IGuessImAFlowerGirl should rethink the nature of her relationship with the bride altogether.
"Incredibly humiliating, and she knows it or she wouldn’t say, 'don’t tell anyone,'" one user said.
"The beginning and the end of is that this woman isn't your friend, has never seen you as an adult even after you became one," another wrote.
Of course, some took on an entirely different perspective.
"Flower girl isn't a role just for children, I've also seen dogs and cats do it," one user wrote.
"Listen, I'm a guy in my mid-30s and I would f****** love to be a flower girl," another user said. "That said if you don't want to do it, you have to tell her you don't want to do it."
