2024 Rosslyn Jazz Fest: What you need to know

ROSSLYN, Va. (DC News Now) — Arlington’s very own Rosslyn Jazz Fest is gearing up for its 32nd annual celebration. Bringing all the vibes to Gateway Park the festival takes place on Sept. 7.

Featuring several artists and bands, the free outdoor event features food trucks, yard games, and more.

After taking place for more than two decades, the Rosslyn Jazz Fest has become a staple in the community’s cultural calendar attracting residents from across the DMV and the surrounding area.

2024 Rosslyn Jazz Fest to shut down some roads in Arlington

As festivalgoers and jazz enthusiasts prepare for the powerhouse event, DC News Now has compiled a quick “know and go list” before you head to the festival.

Parking & Street Closures

Organizers said parking at the Rosslyn Jazz Fest will be limited. If you plan to drive, parking will be available at the Rosslyn Gateway Atlantic Garage for $5, cash only upon entry. The garage will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

There will also be paid street parking throughout eh Rosslyn community and several other paid garage options nearby that can be booked in advance.

On Saturday, the following road will be closed from approximately 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.:

  • Eastbound Langston Boulevard from N. Nash Street to N. Moore Street

  • Fort Myer Drive between WB Langston Boulevard and N. 19th Street

  • Fort Myer Drive access road from 19th Street N. to N. Moore Street

Bag policy & prohibiting items

To help ensure the safety of attendees, organizers said all bags are subject to search. Staff recommends carrying a small bags.

Here is a list of all items that are no allowed into the festival:

  • No tents or golf umbrellas. Personal tote-sized umbrellas are permitted

  • No glass

  • No outside alcoholic beverages. (Beer, wine, hard seltzer, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at Jazz Fest)

  • No open flame or grills

  • No balloons, confetti, or fireworks

  • No amplified music

  • No solicitation, distributing literature, flyers, etc.

  • No professional cameras (with a removable lens) or recording devices unless official media or staff

  • No laser pointers, weapons, or selfie sticks

  • No tobacco products, vapes, or electronic cigarettes. To smoke, please exit Gateway Park away from food trucks and dining areas

Well-behaved pets are also allowed, but they must be leashed at all times. Dog owners must also clean up after they pets.

Attendees are also encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating.
