I've Been A Costco Member For Eight Years Now — Here Are The Snacks I Buy Again And Again
As a meal-prepping mom to three kids under 9, my household runs on snacks.
And my store of choice to get most of those snacks is Costco! I've been a member for eight years now, and I love it because I find my dollars are able to stretch further when I can buy in bulk.
I also love the variety: Not only can I count on Costco for individually-wrapped items, but also lots of fresh and frozen items to meet all the snacking demands — from my kids' lunchboxes to my husband's office lunch, and everything in between. (We also have a severe peanut allergy in our house, and thankfully, we are always able to find options that fit the bill.)
In no particular order, here is a list of our go-to Costco snack items. And if you have a favorite that didn't make the list, leave it in the comments. I'm always looking for new recs!
1. Country Archer Grass-Fed Beef Sticks
Everyone in my house loves these. They are easy to throw in my purse for snacks when we go out — and my husband often takes some to work with him as well. They do not have any added sugar, and with both protein and fat, they will keep you full for longer.
2. King Cheese Spirella Minis
Whether you're doing a charcuterie board or just a small snack plate for yourself, these — which are: prosciutto and soppressata wrapped around cheese sticks — are a do-not-miss. These are also very easy for my kids (with little hands) to grab on to.
3. Galbani String Cheese
Speaking of cheese, my kids are picky about their string cheese. Some have a rubbery texture, some an odd taste, but these ones have the perfect stringy pull, with a great flavor!
4. Kirkland Frozen Three Berry Blend
This frozen berry mix is a regular purchase to make smoothies or to throw in some baked goods. I find they are particularly handy once our Colorado weather cools off and fresh produce and berries are not as abundant.
5. Chobani Greek Yogurt Drinks
I prefer to buy these over the go-gurts because my kids always manage to squeeze out far too much yogurt at once. The Chobani drinks are also made with Greek yogurt — meaning they have more protein than regular yogurt. We also use these to make smoothies at home.
6. GoGo Squeez Yogurtz
I love pouch snacks because of how easy they are to pack (and clean up) on the go, whether that's in a diaper bag, purse, or backpack. These are another great option to help regulate the yogurt-to-mouth (and hopefully not down-the-front-of-the-shirt) flow.
7. Kirkland Signature Organic Apple Sauce
Another pouch option that certainly cannot be left out? These apple sauces. My kids have tried most of the applesauce options offered at Costco, and they only like this plain flavor, which is fine by me. I love that these have no added sugar!
8. Orgain Kids Protein Shake
The kids think they are just having chocolate milk, but with a little added oomph. My son also loves to pack one of these in his backpack for snack time at school.
9. Boom Chicka Pop Kettle Corn
Once the kids go to bed, I love to complement my Netflix marathon with a delicious snack. This is one of my current favorites. As the flavor suggests, it's salty, sweet, and its still light enough to eat before bed without feeling like a big ol' blob once my head hits the pillow.
10. Pirate's Booty
IYKYK. Pirate's Booty beats out all other puffed options.
11. Bare Organic Apple Chips
Apple chips are a snack I would beg my mom to buy as a kid. However, they always came in a tiny bag and cost a small fortune. This Costco bag solves both of those issues!
12. Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps
We've been Costco members for eight years now. And we've been buying these for...eight years now.
13. Oasis Craft Kitchen Organic Hummus
The ultimate partner for our pretzel crisps. We used to buy the individual packs of Kirkland hummus, but when we moved from Georgia to Colorado, we noticed the individual packs always exploded due to the higher elevation. We switched to this Oasis tub, and not only is it delicious, but it is also much more cost-effective.
14. Stonemill Kitchens Spinach Artichoke & Parmesan Premium Dip
A lighter take on a favorite classic. It's also made with Greek yogurt for some extra protein!
15. Made Good Granola Packs
We have a severe nut allergy in our household, which makes it difficult to buy a lot of store-bought, pre-made snacks. However, these Made Good granola bites are such a breath of fresh air — they're allergen friendly, and they also taste good!
16. Clif Kid Z Bars
It's difficult to find a variety pack of granola bars that aren't mixed with a peanut butter flavor. (Except these!)
17. Heavenly Hunks Organic Oatmeal Dark Chocolate
I love these as an option when I'm craving cookies. My kids' school doesn't allow parents to pack cookies as snacks, so these are a good option that has a similar feel. They are also really dense, so one or two go a long way, while also providing a good dose of fiber.
18. Unreal Dark Chocolate Coconut Minis
Coconut, chocolate, what else do you need to know?
19. Black Forest Organic Gummy Bears
Our #1 potty training bribe. Although these are gummy bears as opposed to a fruit snack, these actually have less sugar per pack!
20. Pure Organic Layered Fruit Bars
We barely got these Pure Organic Fruit Bars in the door before my kids started trying to break into them! I have also tried the "That's It!" bars (similar to this type of snack), and my kids pick these instead every time.
21. Kirkland Signature Organic Dried Mangoes
When I was in college, I used to make a special stop every couple of weeks for dried mangoes. Thankfully now, I can get a bulk bag whenever the craving hits. Tart and sweet, a delicious combo.
22. Nature's Finest Organic Dried Mango Bits
Another great dried mango option, but easier for on the go or backpacks. The bite-sized pieces make it easier for my kids to eat as well.
23. Welch's Organic Juice Ice Bars
A refreshing option that is free of the top eight allergens! My family loves to have these on the front porch after school.
