4 Ways to Strengthen Your Relationship in February
We’re officially there: Smack-dab in the middle of the dead of winter. We can’t remember what sunshine feels like, and it’s gonna be a few long months before we experience its delightful warmth again. (Unless you live in Florida. Can we come visit?) So how do you keep the romantic fire burning when you’re wearing three sweaters, long underwear and tube socks? Here are four foolproof ideas, brought to you by KORBEL.

Schedule a PJ Day
It’s negative-three-billion degrees outside, and even though you have chores to do and errands to run, the only thing you want to do is lie on the couch with a bunch of blankets. It’s time to embrace it and go full-out hygge. Set aside a whole day with your S.O., commit to staying inside on the couch and set a “PJs only” rule. Then get cozy, read, watch movies and have some much-needed snuggle time.
Skip the Restaurant on Valentine’s Day
You make a reservation for two at your local Italian place every February 14—but isn’t it always a little disappointing? It’s busy, the service is rushed and you’re bumping elbows with another so-in-love couple having the exact same evening. This year, switch it up. Go bowling, get a couples’ massage, take a boxing lesson or just cook together at home and watch that movie you’ve both been meaning to see. Some traditions were meant to be broken.
Celebrate a Small Achievement
Speaking of V-Day, rather than putting all your focus on one day during the month, make an effort to celebrate every day. Did your partner close a deal at work? Or maybe he or she finally perfected the French macaron. Whatever it is, acknowledge the achievement by opening a bottle of Korbel California Champagne and toasting to the small stuff. (And make sure to break out the fancy flute glasses.)
Do Your Taxes Early
OK, fine, this isn’t as fun as the first three. But if you buckle down and tackle something you’re both dreading early (for once), you’ll set yourselves up to be proactive and organized for the rest of the year. You’ll get your refund super early, and because you aren’t scrambling, you’ll actually have time to pay attention to the documents you’re filing. (Whoa, you qualify for an energy property credit?) Plus, with the biggest hassle of the year out of the way months before it’s due, you two will feel like you can accomplish anything. Power couple alert.
