5 Actors Bollywood Wishes Never Debuted

Once in every 3 months, you see a Bollywood aspirant who is fortunate enough to join the leagues of leading actors in a movie.

Some of them, however, are so slovenly bad that they become dark horse contenders for the biggest jokes of the respective year they debuted in. Here is a round-up of some such actors:

1. Mimoh Chakraborty

Irrespective of the fate of his Hindi movies at box office, Mithun Chakraborty has always been a force to reckon with in India cinema. However, the same can’t be said about the national award winning actor’s son. Mimoh Chakraborty had a forgettable debut and one really wish he hadn’t followed his father’s footsteps. You might call it the ‘too soon, too new’ thing, but judging by his acting skills, one is tempted to call it, ‘too soon, too much’.

2. Sanjay Kapoor

Dancing on the ‘aati nahi’ song in his debut movie, this Kapoor announced his arrival with a bang. What would otherwise explain the rage this song created (what if it unintentionally set the toilet humour mills rolling!) ‘Prem’, a romantic story of reincarnations and some, placed Sanjay Kapoor right opposite Tabu, who went on to become a successful actress. The audience apparently didn’t show any ‘prem’ to either the movie or its hero.

3. Sonu Nigam

The man who can tranquilize your senses only with his voice, can apparently numb them with his acting. ‘Jaani Dushman’ was the revenge story of a serpent, errr, human who turned into a serpent, ahh whatever. Sonu Nigam was hysterical in the scenes he was supposed to be sober, and blank where he was supposed to be hysterical. You have to listen to his line, ‘Kya baat kar rahe ho, Vijay bhi maara gaya?’ Entertainment guaranteed.

4. Harman Baweja

His was arguably the most hyped debut. ‘Love Story 2050’ was a futuristic film, at least that’s what the makers believe to this date. However, the standout element in the movie wasn’t its special effects, but the wooden expressions of its hero, who has often been labelled as a Hrithik-lookalike (his dancing skills fuelled the comparisons, for good reasons though). The actor, however, made a far better comeback in the year that followed.

5. Fardeen Khan

‘Once upon a time heartthrob’ Fardeen Khan became a heartthrob much later after his debut in ‘Prem Aggan’. The movie had its share of love and sleaze; topping it all was the Fardeen’s wooden acting.
