Funny thing about Mansur Gavriel — it certainly didn’t invent bucket bags, block-heel sandals, or luxe leather totes. But somehow, MG’s version of each have managed to capture the zeitgeist in a way no other brand has. Whether it’s offering the right product at just the right time, or great marketing, Mansur Gavriel is the master of making simple things wildly covetable — so much so that restocks of their hotly coveted styles consistently sell out in under 10 minutes. Blink and you’ll miss your chance — a panic-inducing scarcity that surely fuels the fashion world’s mania to buy, buy, buy.

Today, at its presentation at New York’s soothing, pink-carpeted Swiss Institute, the brand introduced several new styles that seem poised to inspire similar devotion. For Fall 2016, Mansur Gavriel offers a selection of ladylike frame bags and low-heel pumps cribbed straight from the ‘60s, but updated in bold colors that give them a modern veneer. Scroll on to see what’ll be selling out six months from now.

A modified Hermès Birkin shape, with shrunken proportions and a winsome bow in place of the Birkin’s businesslike clasp. Also new are the mule pumps which, with their triangular heel and open back feel very 1950s-as-worn-by-’80s-hipsters. So in other words, like something Kate Pierson would wear.

Two straight-from-the-’60s frame bags in glossy patent. If it weren’t for the modern grape and watermelon palette, we’d swear these were meant to dangle from a daintily white-gloved arm.

And, the final new purse style, a roomier suede frame bag that pairs smashingly with Mansur Gavriel’s elegant glove shoe.
