50 Shades of Grey Star in Stalker Nightmare

50 Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan recently spoke up about his “scary” experience with a stalker.

The actor, who appeared in all three Fifty Shades of Grey films, told The Independent: “I had a situation…a stalker-type situation before COVID. That was fucking scary. Someone turned up at my house when my kids were there…. The more I can block that out, the better it is for me and the family.”

It’s not the only unwanted interaction Dornan’s had. Elsewhere in the interview he revealed another fan had created conspiracies about him and 50 Shades of Grey co-star Dakota Johnson.

Dornan “tried to put walls up around [the fans], to really try and not let that in. I’m pretty good at just blocking any of the noise associated with whatever fandom is — not letting it affect me, or more importantly my family.”

Dornan suggests the attention comes with the territory. After all, the 50 Shades of Grey films were a phenomenon, based on E.L. James’ staggeringly successful novels.

“There’s never going to be anything like Fifty Shades again,” Dornan continues. “It felt very much like its own thing, particularly because it focused in and around sex. But there are obviously other jobs that bring insane scrutiny, like superhero stuff, or fucking James Bond — any of that stuff. I’ve done pretty well to avoid that sort of shit so far.”

Dornan’s recently featured in Agatha Christie adaptation A Haunting in Venice, and you can catch him in Australian-set amnesia drama The Tourist on HBO Max.
