7 Things You Can Outsource for Spring Cleaning
I have a love/hate relationship with spring cleaning. On one hand, it's a refreshing and almost meditative process of detoxifying the home. On the other, my motivation declines about halfway through and it ends up taking me way too long to complete tasks (or I give up). My solution? Outsource the tasks I hate doing the most—because let's face it, someone else is probably WAY better at getting the job done than I am. Below are a few tasks you can outsource if you'd rather not do them yourself!
Upholstery Cleaning
Have you ever had your furniture or slip covers professionally cleaned? It's a dream! Spot cleaning can only get you so far, especially with babies and pets. If you're having a hard time finding a professional upholstery cleaner in your area, search carpet cleaning services—some of those companies offer upholstery cleaning services as well.
Drapery
This is one most people forget about! Drapes and window coverings can collect so much dust and dirt and start to actually affect the air in your home, not to mention—start to smell funky. Bag them up and head to the local dry cleaner.
Window Washing
I think the only person I know that likes to wash windows is my mom. Unless you get some serious satisfaction out of this chore, it might be one you'd rather outsource.
Flooring
Floors are my least favorite chore. With a baby and a dog, my floors give me constant anxiety—keeping up with the hair and a little one who lives on the ground is never easy. Sound familiar? Or maybe you have zero babies or pets and you still cringe at vacuuming and mopping. Having a house cleaner come every couple of weeks to help with the deep cleaning is such a treat—and when it comes time for spring cleaning, hiring a professional company to come in is so worth the moola.
Car Detailing
My tip: have your car detailed at a dealership vs. a car wash/detailing company. Dealership detailers are constantly working on cars to be sold, so they do an incredible job. You'll basically feel like you're driving off the lot in a brand new car.
Fireplace
Chimney sweeping is one of those easy-to-forget tasks because it's out of sight. But, it's super important to do for safety matters. Hiring a professional is always a good idea!
Consignment Selling
Need to get rid of that growing pile in the attic but would rather not save it for the summer yard sale? Hire a consignment seller to sell your items on eBay, Craigslist, etc. They'll take a small commission from your sale and you won't have to worry about the back and forth with potential customers, which can be time consuming.
