Actor playing Aladdin pops the question to Jasmine in viral onstage proposal
It's a whole new world of romance for these two lovebirds.
Matthew Pomeroy and Natasha Lamb, who play Aladdin and Jasmine in an Aladdin production in Leicester, England, are in love both on stage and in real life. So after a performance on Friday night, Pomeroy proposed as audience members watched, the BBC reports.
"For the last four years, you have changed my life," Pomeroy said to Lamb during the onstage proposal, as the crowd began to cheer. "I love you with all my heart. You're my best friend."
The curtain call proposal video has gone viral on Twitter, with fans around the world sharing their well wishes for the happy couple.
Lamb's parents were also at De Montfort Hall that evening for the performance, and they got to see the proposal unfold. The venue shared the proposal video on Twitter, and it's already amassed more than 68,000 likes.

Pomeroy also shared some behind-the-scenes details about the proposal with the BBC, and they only make the story that much sweeter.
"It was scary. I hadn't worked out where to put the ring after my costume change for the finale as it didn't have pockets, so when I bowed I thought it would fall out the belt," Pomeroy said. "I spend my life on stage — it's my happy place. Proposing on there fits me perfectly."
Lamb seemed to enjoy the public proposal, too, smiling throughout the experience before accepting.
"I'm still a bit overwhelmed, to be honest," she told the BBC. "It's the best way for us. We spend every day together on stage and shall carry on for however many more years to come."
