It’s officially pumpkin spice season and if you’re anything like me, you’ve been anxiously anticipating the now 20-year-old PSL’s return since you took your final sip last year. While we all love a good trip to our neighborhood Starbucks — and probably indulge more often than not — sometimes our wallets would rather us whip up a café-worthy latte from the comfort of our home.

As magical as your favorite barista may be, making a delicious caffeinated beverage couldn’t be easier these days. With the help of accessible, easy-to-use espresso machines and the assortment of syrups and flavorings available, there’s no excuse not to try your hand at crafting your go-to order at-home. And if you’re looking to satisfy your Pumpkin Cream Cold Foam craving but want to save a couple of bucks, look no further than your local Aldi.

Barissimo Barista, Aldi’s private-label coffee brand, recently added the seasonal Pumpkin Spice Cold Foam flavor to their lineup of ready-made cold foam options — which also includes Sweet Vanilla and Mocha Fudge. Dubbed “Coffee’s New Best Friend,” the tasty topper is both naturally and artificially flavored with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg and is made with real cream. Officially released on September 27, the sweet and creamy coffee add-on has received rave reviews from fans online.

A recent taste-tester shared their delicious-looking recreation on the dedicated Aldi subreddit and we’ve officially been influenced. “Made an iced pumpkin cream chai latte today with the limited edition pumpkin spice cold foam and it was delicious!!” shared the OP. And of course, the comments from intrigued Aldi shoppers came flowing in.

“How does this compare to Starbucks?” asked one person, to which the post's originator responded, “I personally like it better. It's slightly less sweet and more flavorful with the spices.” Another commenter noted that they prefer this version over Starbucks as well. "Who needs Starbucks when you have this gem ?? plus I love controlling the sweetness bc holy crap the Starbucks Version was way too sweet for me."

If you accept the challenge of making your own caffeinated concoction, a can of the sweet stuff will cost you $4.49, but prices may vary by location. It’s worth noting that the average grande-sized latte from Starbucks costs about $5, so opting to make your own at home could save you at least $20 per week.

Looking for another money-saving Aldi dupe? This $50 version of the internet-famous Anthropologie mirror might be just the thing for you.
