Alert the Beyhive: Beyoncé Just Confirmed Her Role in the New Live-Action ‘Lion King’
Ring the alarm! Queen Bey just dropped some seriously exciting news. Turns out the rumors (and our dreams) are true because Disney has officially confirmed that Beyoncé has been cast in the role of Nala in Jon Favreau’s live-action adaptation of The Lion King.
She joins an epic all-star cast with Donald Glover in the starring role of Simba, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar and James Earl Jones reprising his role as Mufasa from the 1994 original. Although the cartoon Nala didn’t sing too many songs, we seriously hope Disney will rethink the character’s musical involvement now that they have such a vocal powerhouse on board.
Congrats, Beyoncé, on scoring such a major role!
