He's Aliveeeee: ‘Walking Dead' Star Andrew Lincoln to Return, but Not in the Way You'd Expect
Don’t count Rick out just yet, because he may be returning to The Walking Dead, but not as an actor.
Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes on the show, sent fans into a tizzy when he announced that the upcoming season nine would be his last (and he’llappear in only six more episodes of The Walking Dead…the horror!). But we have good news, because Lincoln isn’t gone for good (no one really is on this show, are they?!).
According to Entertainment Weekly, Lincoln will return to the Senoia, Georgia, set. “I’m going back to shadow a director, and my intention is to direct next year,” he said, referring to season ten.
“I can’t be that far away because I can’t bear it,” the actor and father of two said. “That’s how much I am invested in the show and the continuation of the story.”
The Walking Dead season nine premieres on October 7, and we’ll still get some more Rick before he’s likely killed off.
Hey, AMC: Make it quick, OK? We can’t handle another Carl.
