Ariana Grande Dating 'Wicked' Co-Star Ethan Slater After Split from Husband: Sources
Ariana Grande said "thank u, next" after splitting from real estate agent husband Dalton Gomez.
Multiple sources have reported that the pop star is currently dating her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater, who plays Boq, the love interest of Nessarose (played by Marissa Bode) while having secret feelings for Glinda, Grande's character.
One source told TMZ that the duo began dating recently after the SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical star separated from his wife of four years, Lily. The duo also welcomed their first child in January.
Neither has publicly commented on their relationship status, and reps for both Grande and Slater have not returned Parade's request for comment.
News of Grande and Gomez's separation began circulating earlier this week, and though it appears the singer has moved on, the publication confirmed that neither party has filed for divorce just yet.
According to TMZ, which broke the news of their split, their marriage didn't work out due to their different lifestyles. Once COVID restrictions ended, Grande returned to her regular life as a celebrity, and Dalton is said to have been "taken aback" by his wife's level of fame, which includes paparazzi and constant travel.
A source told the tabloid that Dalton would question Grande why they needed to have security with them whenever they'd go out, which is a non-negotiable to the singer, who survived a bombing at her Manchester concert in 2017.
Grande and Gomez separated in January while remaining friends and reportedly tried to give their relationship another go in May. However, their attempts to rekindle their romance only lasted two weeks, with the two deciding it was time to officially separate. Gomez is said to have started casually dating since then.
Grande and Slater's romance comes on the heels of a March 26 photo that showed them sitting closely side by side while attending Michelle Yeoh's Oscar celebratory party in London.
