Ariana Grande’s look has changed a lot through the years
When it comes to singing, no one can belt it out like Ariana Grande — but that’s not all that she’s known for. Her style also hits all the right notes and turns heads wherever she goes. But she didn’t get to where she is overnight. Her style evolution has seen her transform from a kid TV star into a headlining superdiva who can pack a stadium and rock the house.
The world first got to hear Ariana back in 2008 when she made her Broadway debut in the musical 13. Her look back then was pretty simple — she wasn’t a star yet, after all. Even though she may not have stood out from the crowd with her clothes, her voice most certainly impressed anyone who was listening.
By 2010 Ariana traded the Great White Way for the red carpet when she landed the role of Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon show Victorious, and with it, she glammed up her look big time. Goodbye, oversize tees and wavy hair. Hello, high-fashion dresses and new straight red hair! The show helped her gain a huge base of fans who grew up with her and cheered her on with every new look.
Ariana truly came into her own in 2012 when she debuted her signature hairstyle — the oversize ponytail. As big as her voice, Ariana’s ponytail is almost as famous as she is at this point. When she said “Thank u, next” to her trademark pony earlier this year, there were countless articles mourning the loss.
Ariana’s fashion sense is as versatile as her music — she effortlessly goes from geek to glam and from skirts to sweats, making headlines along the way. What’s next for Ariana? Anything could happen, and her dedicated fans are excited to be along for the ride!
