Arie and Lauren Are Getting Married Next Year
Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham confirmed on The View this morning that they're getting married next year, and they shared the first wedding details.
“We are very excited to tell you guys that we have booked a venue,” Lauren said. “We’re getting married in Hawaii on January 12 next year.”
The couple got engaged after Arie famously proposed to Becca Kufrin and then dumped her in the finale episode. Although people speculated as to whether Arie and Lauren would film their wedding or not, they decided against it.
“It’s a private wedding, so not on TV, just a close group of friends. Probably 100 guests,” Arie said. "It’s in Maui. It’s at Haiku Mill which has this beautiful, old world feel with a lot of vines and greenery. It’s not your typical beach wedding."
Since the finale of the show, Arie and Lauren have moved in together in his hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona. They said they're currently living in a condo but they just bought a house. If they had the chance, they'd "get married tomorrow."
“We’re just really happy with each other and we vibe well together,” Lauren said. “We’re best friends, so we’re just ready for that next step.”
They also admitted that they've never watched the finale to see how the breakup actually looked on TV. Arie said he knows what he did was unpopular, but he knew Lauren was the girl for him.
“Our relationship is so unique and it’s nothing that I’ve ever had before,” Lauren said. “So the fact that he was willing to take that risk and all of America hating him to be with me, that means a lot to me.”
