Austin Butler Reflects on 'Immediate Bond' With Lisa Marie Presley
The actor said he's never experienced an immediate connection with anyone before.
Austin Butler is reminiscing on the special moments he shared with the late Lisa Marie Presley.
The actor, 31, made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday evening where he opened up about his immediate connection with the late singer, who died on Jan. 12 at the age of 54.
"I first met Lisa when we screened the film at Graceland," Butler said referring to the estate owned by Elvis Presley, Lisa Marie's father. "I've never had an experience where I met somebody and felt an immediate depth of relationship with them."
"She's also — she's a person who didn't have anything to prove and wouldn't open up to anybody and she opened up to me," he continued. "We got so close so fast and it's just devastating."

"It's weird in moments like this because it's so bittersweet. I mean, so much great stuff is happening but it's really just, you know, devastating for her family and for her to not be here celebrating with us, you know?"
He went on to say that he was happy to have the opportunity to be with her at the Golden Globes earlier this year, which marked the last appearance Lisa Marie made, just two days before her death. "I'll never forget that for the rest of my life," Butler said.
Butler won his first Golden Globe for his performance as Lisa Marie's father in the film about his life for Best Actor in a Drama.
Just two days after the award show, Priscilla Presley, Lisa Marie's mom, confirmed the singer had passed away from a heart attack.
"It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us," Priscilla confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE on Jan. 12.
She continued: "She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time, there will be no further comment."
