Awkward moment: Melania Trump ignored by South Korean girls after pop star appears next to her

A video of the first lady greeting South Korean girls who burst into screams after spotting a member of a Korean pop boy band went viral on social media Tuesday.
The short clip showed Melania Trump smiling at a group of teenagers at a government-sponsored event where she gave a speech encouraging female participation in sports and promoted the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, the Associated Press reported.

But when the girls noticed K-pop star and actor Choi Minho standing next to Trump, they began to scream and clap.
Trump, who noticed the reaction, watched the girls with a wide smile and gestured at Choi.
Many Twitter users praised Trump's long-lasting smile.
"I honestly never saw Melania smiling so genuinely," one person wrote, while another tweeted: "This is honestly the first time I've seen Melania smiling."
But others on social media thought the girls were ignoring the first lady.

"Everyone completely ignored Melania bc they were fascinated at Minho," one person tweeted.
Another added: “Not really surprised that Melania got ignored for ChoiMinho I mean any sensible person would've done the same thing."

The event, dubbed "Girls Play 2," took place while the president attended a summit with South Korean President Moon Jae-in for part of the couple's two-day visit to South Korea.
