Baby Archie's Nursery Pays the Sweetest Tribute to Princess Diana

In most ways, Meghan Markle's life is very different from the other 7 billion people on earth. Every single time she steps outside, she is subjected to public scrutiny, from what she says to the way she walks to the way she holds her torso. But some things are the same no matter how famous you are—like decorating a nursery.
Meghan and Prince Harry have moved out of Kensington Palace in London to the much more subdued nearby city of Windsor, to Frogmore Cottage, where they currently live with their new baby Archie Harrison. While details of the royal baby's nursery has been kept hush-hush, we've been able to gather some details about it—including a touching tribute to his late grandmother, Princess Diana.
Archie's Nursery Has a Photograph of Princess Diana Hanging on the Wall.
A report by US Weekly says that Archie's nursery features a photograph of Diana, his grandmother, to celebrate her and remember her important legacy.
“It was during their first trip to Africa together, shortly after they started dating, that Harry first opened up to Meghan about his mom and the pain he suffered following her death,” a royal insider told Us Weekly.
“He still gets very emotional talking about it,” adds the source. “One of the things that first attracted Harry to Meghan was the way her kindness, determination and strength reminded him so much of his mom.”
Meghan's Friend Serena Williams Was Thought to Have Given Away a Huge Secret.
The royal pair was keen on keeping the sex of their baby hush-hush, but Serena Williams was thought to have spilled the beans to E! News. “My friend is pregnant,” Williams had said in the interview. “And she was like, ‘My kid’s gonna do this,’ and I just looked at her and was like, ‘No, she’s not. No, you’re not.’"
While the tennis champion didn't necessarily say that her pregnant friend is the Duchess of Sussex, everyone thought that we'd be getting a baby girl—until Archie Harrison showed up.
Meghan Casually Revealed Her Due Date to a Fan.
While out at an event, Meghan casually revealed her due date to a woman in the crowd when she asked: The Sussex baby is expected around late April and early May, putting Meghan at about eight months along. In an interview with ET, royals reporter Katie Nicholl said, "She has told friends that this is the most exciting [time], the happiest period in her life." She continued: "I'm told that she is upbeat and that she is happy."
Harry and Meghan's Nursery Is Probably Pretty Modern.
What Nicholl can share? The color palette of the nursery they're decorating at Frogmore. "[A]ccording to sources who are helping with [their new home] renovations, the nursery itself is going to be very modern. Don't expect to see any baby pink or pale blues. Apparently, it's going to be a monochrome palette—whites and grays, I'm told, will be the color theme for baby Sussex's nursery."
Whites and grays sounds about right, as Meghan is known for loving neutral palettes in her wardrobe. As outspoken feminists, both, the pair might not like the standard pastel pink or pale blue for their baby, either.
The Royal Bebe May Be Napping In This Babyletto Crib.
The paparazzi went wild during Meghan's baby shower, snapping photos of every person who entered and exited The Mark hotel in New York City, where it was held. As endless stories chronicled the guests who arrived (Gayle King! Amal Clooney! Abigail Spencer!), one baby gift was revealed: a mid-century modern-inspired crib from Babyletto. Specifically, the Hudson 3-in-1 model. There's no word whether the crib was shipped across the pond, but it does fall in line with the couple's desire for a clean-lined, modern nursery.
While it's unlikely there will ever be photos released of that special space, it's lovely to imagine the happy couple nesting for the next few months. Between appointments cuddling puppies, that is.
