Bacon Lovers, Cheez-It's New Flavor Is For You

Cheez-It quietly introduced a new flavor to the market, and if you're a fan of bacon, you'll probably be a fan of these new crackers.

Called Sizzlin' Bacon, the new flavor is inspired by, you guessed it, the crispy, smoky, salty flavors of the namesake.

We know what you're thinking–didn't Cheez-It already release bacon-flavored crackers? Yes and no, this is the first time the brand debuted a standalone cracker said to taste like the beloved breakfast meat as it previously released a DUOZ version featuring a combination of two flavors: smoky pork and savory cheddar cheese.

But unlike the DUOZ Bacon & Cheese variety, which you can find at nearly any store any time of year, the Sizzlin' Bacon Cheez-It crackers look to be exclusive to Walmart. The new variety also won't be added to the permanent lineup of Cheez-It flavors–at least not yet, advertised as a limited-time specialty. Each 12.4-ounce box is set to retail for roughly $3.68, according to our research.

The limited-edition flavor officially joined the snack brand's full lineup of offerings earlier this fall, presumably just in time for the snacker's haven that is football party season. And since it was announced, the response from foodies has been pretty positive, with many sharing online that since they're already fans of the very similar DUOZ variety, they simply can't wait to get their hands on a box (or two) of the standalone bacon version.

Cheez-It isn't the only snack brand using the last leg of 2023 to innovate products on store shelves. Just a few weeks ago, Pringles revealed it would be releasing a limited-edition caviar collection inspired by The Real Housewives of New York, Gatorade announced it would be ditching its colorful sweet drinks with a new release and Kraft Mac & Cheese, Oscar Mayer hot dogs and Claussen Pickles got their own gummy candy.
