It's always a sale day at Everlane— here's everything worth buying
Everlane launched to rave reviews back in 2010, and yet somehow the retailer manages to live a bit under the radar. Whenever I wear the company’s modern, forgiving, comfortable and chic clothes, I’m always showered with compliments — but I never “see myself coming and going,“ as my mother would say. So I’m happy to be the one to turn you on to this treasure trove of insanely affordable staples-with-an-edge.
Everlane’s mission is simple and clear: “Exceptional quality. Ethical factories. Radical transparency.” Believe it or not, these values result in amazing prices for the consumer and fair treatment of vendors. That’s because Everlane works directly with manufacturers — there’s no middleman adding an extra markup. Everybody wins, especially you.
Here are some of my favorite pieces that you’ll probably wear into the ground.

The sweater you wish someone had given you for the holidays, in too-soft-for-words alpaca — light and airy, yet toasty warm. One thing Everlane always seems to get right is palette. This pink feels fresh and sophisticated, not little-girl. It’s also available in five other colors.
Shop it: The Oversized Alpaca Crew, $95 (traditional retail $185), everlane.com
The perfect work tee. Nicely tailored for a neat fit through the shoulders, substantial in weight and not at all clingy, it’s ideal with high-waisted pants or jeans. Layer it over a long fitted tank for a more relaxed look. I love the long-sleeve version — which reads more weekend than work — just as much. Color options change now and then, so when you see what you want, scoop it up immediately. It could disappear.
Shop it: The Cotton Box-Cut Pocket Tee, $16 (traditional retail $35), everlane.com
Japanese Oxford Square Shirt
This is the only button-down my body has ever worn well. It’s a nice weighty oxford, and it imparts a sense of put-togetherness. I reach for it when I have a scary meeting on the calendar. It’s the sartorial equivalent of a power pose. You’ll love it.
Shop it: Japanese Oxford Square Shirt, $68, everlane.com
The Day Heel
If you’ve never strolled in a two-inch block heel, your life is about to change. Some folks swear this heel height is more comfortable than flat footwear. This pair — extra walk-worthy thanks to an elasticized back — will take you through the seasons, adding cheer to black wool pants in winter, crisp cotton dresses in spring and ankle-flare jeans anytime.
Shop it: The Day Heel, $150 (traditional retail $305), everlane.com
Modern Snap Backpack
One thing I love about Everlane is that when the company makes a great product, it keeps it around, tweaking a bit now and then. I’m kind of jealous of the recent iteration of its Modern Snap Backpack (the one I own, in navy, is still in perfect condition so I can’t justify purchasing this delicious color). You’ll love the way this top-loader functions. The luxe hardware and leather detailing make it a joy to use. Everlane bags (not just the backpacks, but the mover pack and the twill weekender) are my go-to graduation gifts, by the way — they look and feel expensive.
Shop it: Modern Snap Backpack, $68 (traditional retail $180), everlane.com
The Day Boot
There’s an ever-so-subtle superhero quality to a pair of metallic boots. With a classic shape and a subtle sheen, these require no bravery to wear, but they add a shot of oomph to an otherwise basic ensemble. Think of them as a free pass to dress in black head to toe.
Shop it: The Day Boot, $235 (traditional retail: $460), everlane.com
The Clean Silk Short-Sleeve Square Shirt
This top is so rich, it looks like it set you back a whole paycheck. It moves gracefully, goes with everything, and breathes in an overheated office (or the warmer months). In dark colors, it’s opaque; this pale pink may call for a cami.
Shop it: The Clean Silk Short-Sleeve Square Shirt, $98 (traditional retail, $235), everlane.com
Renew Long Puffer
A cozy cocoon that doesn’t make you feel like a snowman, this puffer is just the right weight and length to keep you both warm and nimble. Pockets are deep and indulgent, and a hidden drawstring at the waist lets you reshape the profile. Fabric and fill are made from 100 percent recycled materials.
Shop it: Renew Long Puffer, $175 (traditional retail $340), everlane.com
