Big Cats Enjoying Frozen Snack at Panther Conservation Center Are Too Sweet
Any good pet owner will know the importance of enrichment in an animal's daily life. Fun, new activities can prevent boredom, reduce destructive behaviors, and promote feelings of curiosity and satisfaction. Well--the same goes for big cats, too!
To be clear: these jaguars, leopards, and lynxes aren't pets. They're residents at Panther Ridge Conservation Center, where their caretakers do all they can to keep them happy and healthy. This summer, that includes giving them a fun, but unusual, snack!

This is so cool! It's very fascinating to see big cats enjoying treats exactly like a domestic cat would, and we love those licking sounds! This is feline ASMR at its finest.
As expected, we weren't the only viewers who were thrown off by the unusual snack at the big cat sanctuary. @Mericle_whip wrote, "I saw the first seconds was like like 'YO WHAT' but then the kitties popped up." LMAO! That's the exact thought process we had, too, but it all made sense after we saw the first big cat.
Panther Ridge is a non-profit "conservation center specializing in the care and needs of endangered and threatened species of cat." They house ten different species of endangered felines, including:
- Lynx
- Cheetahs
- Cougars
- Leopards
- Clouded Leopards
- Jaguars
- Servals
- Ocelots
- Caracals
- Fishing Cats
Folks who are interested in visiting their Loxahatchee, Florida sanctuary can book one of their many tours online. If you're lucky, you might just see them enjoying a snack--like one of these infamous 'bloodcicles'--while you're there!
