Billie Lourd Posted The Sweetest Tribute To Carrie Fisher In Her Old Home
It's hard to believe it's been two years since the world lost Carrie Fisher, but if anyone could pay the perfect tribute to the beloved actress, it's her daughter Billie Lourd-and she did so without leaving a single Instagram user with a dry eye.
"I decided to do something a little vulnerable for me, but something we both loved to do together - sing," Billie wrote in an Instagram post. So she took to her mother's gorgeous grand piano, which was given to the late talent by her father, to sing her "Momby's" favorite song, one that fans point out is called "These Days" by Jackson Browne.
While Billie's voice carrying her mom's favorite song is simultaneously beautiful and heartbreaking, the fact that she's playing on her mother's old piano and singing in what looks like Carrie's old home makes it all the more moving.
Fellow stars commented pointing out the house as well. Actor Michael Rosenbaum wrote "This is so damn cool. What a voice. Miss that house. Have a party woman," while Courtney Love commented saying, "Oh Billie! It is so heartbreaking to me still. And to see you in that home - is heartbreaking again. But your voice is so beautiful. I will never ever be over it."
Though Billie herself doesn't mention the home, it's hard not to recognize it since not much has changed. The piano appears to be in the same spot, along with her iconic year-round Christmas tree, blue doors, cozy recliners, noteworthy fireplace, and the taxidermy on the walls.
While many of Carrie's possessions were auctioned off last October, it's clear that not all of them were sold since the house remains so recognizable-with good reason. You can take a closer look at the rest of the house in this video, in case you missed it:
