Billy Joel Shares Sunny Snap While Boating With Wife and Two Daughters
Billy Joel's family celebrated the official start of summer with a picture-perfect day out on the water.
The 74-year-old singer-songwriter shared a photo from his recent outdoor adventure that showed the "Uptown Girl" crooner posing beside his wife of eight years, Alexis Roderick, and behind the couple's two young kids–Della Rose, 7, and Remy Anne Joel, 5–on the back of their small pontoon boat, which happens to share a name with his one daughter, anchored at what appeared to be a dock in New York City.
"Happy First Day of Summer!" he simply cheered in the caption of his Wednesday, June 21 Facebook post.
The rare family photo was a massive hit with fans, who shared their well wishes with the Piano Man and his beautiful family.
"Happy summer Joel family!" one wrote.
"Enjoy your time with your beautiful family! Thanks for all the great songs that mean so much to us. You’re humble and very kind to everyone who comes to say hi! Really great! It means a lot!" another follower exclaimed.
In addition to his two younger children, Joel also shares an adult daughter named Alexa Ray Joel with his ex-wife Christie Brinkley.
The rare family photo comes about three weeks after the legendary singer announced that his record-breaking residency at Madison Square Garden would be no more and that his final residency shows at the New York City arena will start in October, running until July 2024.
