Burns helps with Disney vacations
Kalyn Fiorella Burns fell in love with Disney as a little girl.
And decades later, she still hasn’t lost that love.
Burns and her family visit Walt Disney World two or three times a year.
And her daughter, Julia Jones, is in the Disney College Program, working as an intern at Epcot.
Now, Burns is trying to help more people fall in love with Disney.
In April, she started Kalyn’s Best Day Ever Vacations.
“I’ve been planning vacations for myself and friends for a long time,” she said. “I can do other things besides Disney, but Disney is my passion. I can handle rental cars, hotels and flights. I offer quite a variety of services.”
Her clients don’t pay anything.
“Disney pays me when I book,” Burns said. “They charge the same fee to everyone whether they use a travel agent or not. So you might as well use me.”
There are close to 30 resorts on the Disney property, four major theme parks and two water parks.
“There’s a lot to know about the parks,” Burns said. “Vacations can be very stressful. I research everything. There are always new things, so it’s good to have a travel agent in your corner.”
She said, “I can fit your needs and even get you dinner reservations. There are some very popular character meals.”
Burns said, “I’m up at 5 a.m. when reservations come open. I live on a farm so I’m up by then anyway.”
She said, “I can almost do it in my sleep. It’s like a game.”
Back in the ‘80s, when Disney released old movies on VHS, “my mom would take me to the store to get it on the first day,” she said. “That’s where it started.”
Burns said she can find the best discounts.
“I call it ‘Bougie on a Budget’,” she said.
Discounts help because Disney World costs about $150 a day per person.
But it gets cheaper if you stay more than one day, Burns said.
“You can book a year in advance and pay it off in installments before you go,” she said.
The best way to reach her is on her Kalyn’s Best Day Ever Vacations page on Facebook.
As for her, she’s planning on her own trip around Christmas — her third trip this year.
She’ll get to see her daughter and “around Christmas the decorations are so beautiful.”
And then, there’s the fact that her son will be 3 next year.
“Kids are free until their third birthday,” Burns explains.
