Candace Cameron Bure just clapped back at trolls who criticized her family photo.
Some people made fun of how her children were posed and that they weren't smiling.
Candace responded to the comments on Instagram and wrote a Facebook post, too.
It’s normal to want to post pics of your family on social media during the holidays, since togetherness is what the season is all about. But Candace Cameron Bure recently got some heat after sharing her family's NYE pic—and she wasn’t having it.
Here’s the deal: The Fuller House alum shared a stylized picture of herself with her husband, Valeri Bure, posing alongside their three kids, Lev, Natasha, and Maksim, on Instagram Saturday. The whole family is dressed up, and they’re giving the camera serious face.
"Happy New Year from the Bures!!" Candace wrote in the caption. "Looking forward to what 2021 has in store. I’m praying for unity, grace, humility, compassion and love for mankind. With God, all things are possible ????. Sending virtual hugs and kisses! XO. P.S. I think my social media break is now over ??."
Plenty of people were all about how fierce the family looks in the pic. "This looks like an ad for Ralph Lauren," one wrote. "That’s a good looking family right there!!!" another said.
But some people weren’t as into the whole thing. "What a weird pose your daughter’s doing," one commenter wrote. (Natasha isn’t looking at the camera, and is brushing her hair off her face in the pic.)
"Why do your daughter and son look so angry?" another wrote, referring to Natasha and Lev.
Well, Candace wasn’t about to take those comments, so she responded with this: "Wow – I post a family photo and you all find everything you don’t like about it or can make fun of. Do better than that. Please."
Natasha also jumped into the mix, writing, "Omg!!!! I didn’t smile or look at the camera. Sue me!!!"
Candace later went on Facebook to write an additional post about the whole thing. "I posted my family Christmas photo and sadly, there were so many unkind comments," she wrote. "Do you think it’s funny to criticize someone’s children? To make jokes about them? To critique our poses? The direction in which we are looking? Our physical appearance and facial expressions? I wished blessings upon everyone as I shared it in the spirit of a happy new year, yet so many of you came back with jokes about our appearance and criticism of what you thought would have been a better photo. Shame on you. It doesn’t matter if you’re 10 or 90 years old, rude is rude."
"Be better than that," she continued. "I’m praying for humanity. Manners and respect. If you don’t like something, just move on. There are people and real feelings behind every screen."
Candace ended on this note: "P.S. Please don’t tell me to ignore the 'haters.' There were plenty of well meaning people who thought it would be funny to point out things and share their commentary, 'with love.' Umm... that’s not love. That’s rude. Try kind. It looks good on everyone."
