The Canned Aldi Grocery That Shoppers Are Buying 4 at a Time
After spotting them at their local Aldi's, Reddit is going to town on stuffed grape leaves. It only took one post for mouths to water and for some posters to come out of the woodwork to declare Aldi's version of the classic dish even better than Trader Joe's version.

"The stuffed grape leaves absolutely slap. Get them if you can find them," wrote u/garliclemonpepper in the Aldi subreddit.
If you have yet to journey to the Middle East or Mediterranean, you may not be familiar with the beloved dish. However, you can find it in canned form at your local Aldi's and Trader Joe's (if others didn't stock up first).
Here's what to know about the dish and why some fans think Aldi's version beats Trader Joe's.

What Are Stuffed Grape Leaves?
Stuffed grape leaves, also known as dolmas, usually involve grape leaves wrapped around rice and seasonings. Stuffed grape leaves are typically served at room temperature and can be homemade or found in cans.

Aldi Stuffed Grape Leaves vs. Trader Joe's Quinoa Stuffed Dolmas
Aldi's Journey to Greece Stuffed Grape Leaves come in 10-ounce packages. The canned good is vegetarian-friendly and the tender briny leaves are wrapped around a mixture of rice, onion and mint.
On the other hand, Trader Joe's Quinoa Stuffed Dolmas pack 10 grape leaves into a 9.86-ounce can. The TJ's filling is a combo of quinoa, lemon juice, garlic and onions. They're zesty and earthy. However, are they better than Aldi's Stuffed Grape Leaves?
One fan remarked, "The Trader Joe's ones slap!"
However, it's unclear if they've taste-tested Aldi's alternative. Others made it clear they had and that Aldi won.
"I like these better than the Trader Joe's variety," wrote a fan. "These have a lot more flavor in the filling."
"Same," agreed another. "I found these to have a better flavor than [Trader Joe's]."

How to Serve Stuffed Grape Leaves (Whether You're Team Aldi or Trader Joe's)
"So…what do you do with them?" asked a Redditor, who presumably hasn't tried stuffed grape leaves before.
Good question. Regardless of whose stuffed grape leaves you prefer, you'll want to serve them in a way that meets your (and any guests') cravings. Luckily, stuffed grape leaves are versatile. Helpful as always (or usually), Redditors shared their favorite ways to eat them.
Straight from the can. "Um, eat them?" and "On their own?" were two responses. These flavorful snacks are delicious as-is. The easy-to-open can is a cherry on top.
On top of a salad. If snacking on stuffed grape leaves straight from the can doesn't "slap," one Redditor suggested throwing them on top of a salad as a simple way to punch up a plate of greens.
Tzatzki. A Redditor (and Trader Joe's, for what it's worth) loves how stuffed grape leaves play with tzatzki. TJ's suggests dipping their stuffed dolmas in the chain's avocado tzatziki.
Charcuterie board. Elevate a Mediterranean-inspired board with stuffed grape leaves. They pair nicely with olives, cheeses, figs, jam, cured meat—all the things, really. The best part? You'll look like a genius without trying. "Sounds like great pantry...item, especially if you want to do a little charcuterie and don’t want to go out and buy [and] stuff leaves," wrote one Redditor.
Where to Find Stuffed Grape Leaves at Aldi
The original poster in the Reddit thread noted they found stuffed grape leaves in the Aldi Find aisle. The price is $2.99. Since they're an Aldi Find, the Stuffed Grape Leaves will only be around while supplies last. Judging from one comment, they won't be around long (though you may be able to find two lonely cans on the shelf if you hurry).
"[I] scored four cans yesterday!" the commenter announced. "[I] left two on the shelf — opened one as soon as I got home. [I'm] not sorry for the purchase. [I'm] sorry for leaving two behind!"
If you miss out, don't worry. Trader Joe's version is available year-round.
