Cara Delevingne Finally Addresses Her ‘Odd’ Behavior With Megan Thee Stallion at the BBMAs
Only Murders in the Building actor Cara Delevingne revealed that she was just as confused as everyone else when she showed up at the Billboard Music Awards this year.
In May, the event, also known as the BBMAs, took place, and social media was abuzz with questions about Delevingne's behavior as she appeared to be there with rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
Delevingne, who explained why she was at the event in a new interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, said that while at the BBMAs, she was thinking, "I'm not meant to be here."
The 29-year-old told the story of that night to Jimmy Fallon, saying that she and Megan are friends and she wanted to see the rapper perform. Since Delevingne was in Vegas at the time, Megan asked her to come along to the BBMAs.
Delevingne explained, "I didn't know I was gonna go and sit or do anything. I thought I was just gonna come and watch her play."
As for why she stuck close to Megan before and during the BBMAs, the model and actor said that she helped the rapper memorize her speech before she won the award of Best Rap Female Artist.
One particular part of the night that really drew mixed responses on social media, as Glamour reported, was how Delevingne trailed behind Megan on the red carpet and participated in the photo ops.
Delevingne told Fallon, "So I was standing behind her, and then she was trying to – you know, the thing with fashion, you try to flick your own thing – and she couldn't really [do it]," referring to when people create movement in photos by flipping the train or trailing fabric of the outfit out.
She continued: "So I was helping her, and I was doing it, and going like, 'Yeah, go!' Like, hyping her up." However, instead of seeing her behavior as supportive, some people thought it was a little creepy.
Despite the chaotic confusion of the day, Delevingne said she had fun, telling Fallon, "I was living my best life, but people found it a little bit odd, which I – People find me odd, but that's me...No shame."
