Carnegie Hall’s Fall 2024 classes and workshops are now open
LEWISBURG, WV (WVNS) — Carnegie Hall opened their annual Fall series of workshops and classes, with a large variety of hobbies and interests covered that will last through December 2024.
Created to inspire participants and expand participation within the arts field, the exciting classes are held primarily in sessions of small group and provides a variety of classes for all ages.
Carnegie Hall releases schedule of upcoming events for September and October
For lovers of Halloween, the Carnegie Hall-O-Ween series is returning, offering autumn-related workshops, presentations, and classes with the goal of bringing together those who enjoy the haunts and harvests of the season. Beginning on September 28, 2024, events including Ghost Stories and Other Spooky Things, storytelling experiences from folk artist Adam Booth, the second annual All Things Pumpkin Culinary Contest, ceramic pumpkin and skull classes, mask making, cemetery tours and more!
According to a press release from Carnegie Hall, the Pottery Studio offers a revival of the 3-day Raku course, where students experienced in the area can be involved in a live firing process and then submerge the works in closed containers of combustible materials. Each piece is special, and the unveiling of the final product is a thrilling moment. More classes involving different aspects of pottery will be available from instructors Kelsie Tyson and intermediate classes with Sean O’Connell.
The series of workshops and classes offer fresh opportunities for students. Courses in making sourdough bread, beginner banjo and fiddle, creative writing, and more afford students to explore and find new hobbies. The American Federation of Musicians Local 674 will host music education courses at no cost.

More than 40 artisan teachers are employed by Carnegie Hall. Teachers for this season include Teri Hartford, Harmony Flora, Luke Davis, Sadra Schmocker, Jane Degroot, Lynda Weichowsky, Dennis Ott, Stephen Kowalkowski, Aletta Chery, Kathy Talley, Jan Darrah, Connie Gottshall, Jessie Thornton, Barbara Volk, Chaela and Chris Neil, Tommy Rafes, Amie Durrman, and members of the Fiber Arts Network.
