Chris Harrison Says Arie Luyendyk Has “Always Been in the Pipeline” for The Bachelor Role: See His First Season Promo

Chris Harrison and Arie Luyendyk are reunited at last. The Indy 500 driver was officially announced as the season 22 Bachelor a week ago, and people are still discussing the surprise decision, including longtime franchise host Harrison.

Harrison stopped by Live With Kelly and Ryan on Monday, September 11, to further elaborate on the choice of Luyendyk as Bachelor, a controversial move–yet again–from producers. While Rachel Lindsay’s finalist Peter Kraus was the clear and apparent frontrunner for the position, executives surprisingly brought back the five-year-old franchise name, leaving newer fans befuddled.
