Christina Aguilera Turns Heads in Colorful Optical Illusion Dress
Christina Aguilera kicked off New York Fashion Week with a bang!
The pop singer slipped into an optical illusion dress, a trending style as of late, with racy details. The printed pattern of the colorful long-sleeved dress made it difficult to decipher what was real from what was, well, simply an illusion. (Admittedly, though, we assume that's kind of the whole point.)
Aguilera stepped out in the City That Never Sleeps for Vogue's Smart Tox kickoff event on Sept. 7, donning the Feben Fall 2023 ensemble, which featured hues of green, orange, blue, white, red, black, and grey. The midriff area was comprised of an image of a toned stomach, possibly that of a Grecian-like statue, while a piece of cloth was tied and knotted around her unmentionables.
Above it, a marbled paint effect covered the rest of the dress, apart from one side of the chest area, which was made to look like a woman's breast.
The design is described as being "emblazoned with a collage of Salvador Dali’s Gradiva painting blended with a print of the Greek goddess Psyche," according to Red Carpet Fashion Awards.
The 42-year-old put her curves on display in the form-fitting number, which was paired with shiny, pointed-toe gold boots, a green clutch purse, and matching oversized sunglasses. For beauty, the pop star opted for long, bleach-blonde tresses worn down in middle-parted loose waves, along with dusty rose-colored lipstick.
Over the past several months, other celebrities such as Kendall Jenner, Ashley Graham, and January Jones have sported the illusive style.
