Christina Hendricks Scores a Big ‘Beauty’ at Garage Sale Amid Home Renovations

There's nothing like scoring a great secondhand find—even when you're a celebrity.

Christina Hendricks—who's been in the process of renovating her New York home—took to Instagram on August 27 to share an exciting new acquisition: A crystal chandelier she bought at a garage sale.

"Found this beauty from somebody selling out of their garage and she just needs a little love and care. Cleaned her brass up and going out hunting for antique chain today to hang her. Does anyone know what the cardboard 'candlestick' sheaths are called? I want to replace them too. Or paint maybe?" Hendricks wrote in her caption.

Instagram users who share the Mad Men alum's love for all things DIY had plenty of ideas to share.

"I covered those cardboard tubes on our old chandelier with pages from an old Italian dictionary as a 'temporary' fix. A decade later they are still up there," wrote one fan.

"?????? try candle sockets when searching. That will get you the melting candle look for your chandelier ??????," commented a second person.

"Candle tubes. There’s a place online called King’s Chandeliers that sells them," suggested another fan.

This isn't the first time Hendricks has given her followers a sneak peek at her home remodeling efforts. She initially teased the project in an Instagram story on August 18 with a snapshot of a glass of wine and a bottle of water on a finished wooden countertop alongside a hairbrush, a compact and a measuring tape.

"This can only mean one thing," she wrote, adding, "ITS TIME FOR A NEW HOME RENOVATION!!!!"
