A Closer Look at the Bizarre Christian Louboutin Shoes at the Matières Fécales Show in Paris
Matières Fécales and Christian Louboutin are getting in on the wacky shoe trend. Louboutin showcased unique footwear silhouettes at the Matières Fécales fall ready-to-wear show in Paris on March 7.
In one interesting footwear display, audiences could see a pair of shiny light beige pumps with a distinctly convex outline in back, curving dramatically from top to bottom. The rest of the shoe featured a sharp toe and low-cut vamp like a standard pointed-toe pump.

Another set of attention-grabbing shoes featured the same convex design in back, applying the look to a pair of close-fitting black boots with an eye-catching sculpted platform. Both of these shoes included Louboutin’s signature red sole.
Fashion weeks around the world have brought about some unusual shoes lately. Marc Jacobs, for example, unofficially kicked off New York Fashion Week in February with its spring 2025 show that included oversized platform boots with upturned toes, pumps with elongated toes and pumps with bulbous toes. In another instance of memorable footwear, Coach displayed bunny slippers and other playful looks at the brand’s fall 2025 show in February.
Chappell Roan, Rick Owens, Michèle Lamy, Daphne Guinness and Christian Louboutin himself were some of the guests at the Matières Fécales show, which was the Paris Fashion Week debut of designers Hannah Rose Dalton and Steven Raj Bhaskaran. WWD’s Miles Socha reviewed the show, writing, “Their slow-paced show, performed to live piano music, included a hairy shearling coat that brought to mind an albino Sasquatch; several all-black men’s looks with Grim Reaper vibes, and dramatic finale gowns sprouting giant angel wings made of cock feathers, one modeled by Dalton.”
Paris Fashion Week follows Milan Fashion Week, which featured many vibrant footwear looks from a range of designers — FN’s Stephen Garner wrote about them here.
