‘The Conners’ Are Finally Here with a First-Look Photo & New Teaser
The Conners are going through some major changes.
In the wake of Roseanne’s cancellation, ABC shared a teaser and sneak-peek photo from the forthcoming spinoff show, The Conners. Mimicking the original Roseanne intro, the new promo centers on the empty family couch while the aptly chosen Carly Simon song “Anticipation” plays.
The words “What’s Next?” appear on screen and we’re left to wonder, yeah, what is next?
ABC also dropped a behind-the-scenes photo of the full cast—Roseanne alums John Goodman (Dan), Sara Gilbert (Darlene), Laurie Metcalf (Jackie), Lecy Goranson (Becky), Michael Fishman (D.J.), Emma Kenney (Harris), Ames McNamara (Mark) and Jayden Rey (Mary)—gathered around the Conner family’s kitchen table with scripts in hand.
It’s not yet clear how the series will explain Roseanne Barr’s absence, but Goodman hinted that her character may have died off-screen.
The Conners arrive on (or return to?) ABC on Tuesday, October 16, at 8/7c.
