CLEVELAND (WJW) — There are myriad ways to attempt to cool down when the mercury rises, but none are quite as sweet as eating a scoop (or two!) of ice cream. Thankfully, Northeast Ohio is stuffed with ice cream stands open from late spring through the end of summer.

NE Ohio-based ice cream named best in Ohio: List

Offering up hard pack and soft serve options aplenty — and even some gelato and custard — we’ve worked to gather a list of spots that you may not know about simply because they’re seasonal in nature. But trust us, you don’t want to miss ’em.

The state of Ohio has made its own ice cream trail map, but we decided to break it down even further based on spots you can’t walk inside of (for the most part) and are not open year-round. Be sure to check out their websites or call for full times and when they’ll close for the season.
